Hello, Recently on the advice of a serice representative at the local BMW shop I had the engine and gearbox oil changed to synthetic in my 2005 1200GS, after going there today for an unrelated item I was talking to them and they told me that it is not recommended to use synthetic oil and that having it in the bike may void the warranty, they First remove exhaust from the pipe and take off your rear brake reservoir.
